Another Blog? Seriously? Come on.
Why I start my own Blog
Background
Let me give you some background. I have had my share of difficulties at the workplace – like everybody else. I kept struggling and wasn’t getting where I’d like to go. This initiated a lot of self-reflection.
I found a wealth of information in articles and blogs on the web. And more pseudo information, that is out there solely to draw traffic onto the posters site. One site started to stand out mainly in a positive way: linkedin.
Journey
So far in this journey, I have changed a lot of my views simply by being able to put what I knew / felt / suspected in words, by making it in this way tangible. I have learned a lot, broadened my view and understanding, immersed into the why things are happening like they are.
This has so far profoundly changed my expectations.
This has so far profoundly changed my approaches.
This has so far profoundly changed my understanding.
This has so far profoundly changed my perspective.
This has so far profoundly changed how I seem my positioning. At work, In society. In community.
This has so far not at all changed my believe to do the right thing.
But it has refined and reformulated what I see as the right thing. This journey has shown me ways to achieve more possibilities to do do the right thing. It has opened up a lot of doors that I had shut myself (and thrown away the key), or that I was unaware of.
Why my own blog?
So much for the background – for now. So why do I start my own blog?
- Because I want to give back.
- Because I am sure there are others having the same questions as I have.
- Because writing a blog, writing in general helps me formulating concisely where my thoughts are wandering.
- Because a blog is a collection of single ideas, statements, thoughts, fragments, that when put together will produce something far greater then the sum of the fragments.
- Because I have no idea where this will lead me, but I am curious and want to find out.
- Because there is the chance that somebody reading what this journey did for me is enough to make this somebody set out for their own journey.
So, yes another blog. Seriously. Come on and red about my journey.
What I have found on other blogs / articles is an inconsistency of how things are done within the posts.
So I will add “Definitions” for individual such small, distracting things. I want to focus, and give everybody a chance to focus on the core thought, without distracting thoughts.
For example:
I will include a date-stamp in every post, especially when I have data in it.
I will keep the posts gender neutral, unless I want specifically point to male or female attributes. I have seen too many distractions about the “he” and “she” switching in the posts, including page long comment discussions why “he” was used in these cases and “she” in the other cases. The message of the post got completely lost.
I will (attempt to) not include religious or political views. These posts belong somewhere else.
What I will be blogging about:
- My discovery adventures into “Leadership”, “Entrepreneur”, “Organization”, “Psychology”, “Motivation”.
- My thoughts and opinions on articles I read, that are more than comments.
- My personal experiences during the adventure of starting a company.
- Nuggets.
- Whatever else comes across my virtual desk.
